About Jan
I have had many diversified life experiences and have raised two wonderful, successful daughters. I often took the hard road and my habits of thinking often put me on the more challenging paths in life.
I have been a lifelong competitive athlete — a gymnast, college cheerleader, have completed Triathalons and Iron Man competitions. That is to say, I have always challenged myself — sometimes for the better and sometimes at my peril. In 2004 I was in a stable marriage, staying home in a traditional role with two young children. Feeling a lack of self esteem and like the “grass was greener elsewhere”, I chose to divorce my children’s father. This was an impulsive choice on my part. I knew something had to change.
I suddenly found myself in a tailspin of cleaning houses and babysitting. I had a business degree but was lacking confidence in getting a job in this area because I had not worked outside of the home in years. I set a goal — to go to Licenses Practical Nursing School and eventually go to RN school. I was running a household on a shoestring budget while my children were in Middle School. I was able to maintain my work out regime, but my emotional and spiritual well-being were consumed with anxiety and self-doubt.
I was in a crisis. I knew I had to look within myself. I went to counseling and had the support of family and friends. But, I had to figure out where my natural gifting was and also what areas needed work. The process of sanding down the hard four corners of my concrete block (called my life) began with taking the Habit Finder Assessment and working with Dave Blanchard, a renown life coach.
Fast forward to today:
I have a large, wonderful group of close friends, and am a mother of two successful grown children. I started a real estate property management business that I solely own and I am a licensed Registered Nurse. I hold a business degree in marketing from the University of Arkansas, I am a certified yoga teacher, and am currently interning in a rigorous 500 hour program to become a Pilates instructor. I am ready to help others navigate their path through uncertain situations personally and professionally.
